The card you're holding documents one of the most statistically unrepeatable moments in baseball history. On June 23, 2003, Barry Bonds stole second base at Pacific Bell Park to become the first — and, by every reasonable projection, the only — player ever to hit 500 home runs and steal 500 bases. Topps marked the moment immediately with this internet-exclusive insert, the 2003 eTopps Event Series Extra #ES11, pressed to a confirmed print run of just 2,649 copies.

eTopps was the hobby's original online-exclusive platform — Topps sold cards directly through individual IPOs (Initial Player Offerings) during a brief window, then held them in a climate-controlled warehouse until collectors requested physical delivery. No packs, no boxes, no retail shelf. The Event Series subset sat above the already-limited base eTopps issues, issued in real-time response to on-field milestones, making each card a time-stamped artifact of the moment itself.

  • Card: 2003 eTopps Event Series Extra #ES11 — Barry Bonds, San Francisco Giants
  • Print run: 2,649 — the full documented production ceiling for this card
  • The moment: Bonds' 500th stolen base, clinching sole membership in the 500-500 Club — a distinction no other player in MLB history has matched
  • Platform: Internet-exclusive eTopps IPO; never sold through hobby shops or retail
  • Format: Uncirculated copies store in original Topps protective holder; traded copies show real-world handling

Bonds remains the all-time home run king at 762 career homers, the single-season record holder at 73 in 2001, and the only man in the 400-400 and 500-500 clubs. No active player is on pace to challenge either mark. The collectible case for Bonds' milestone cards only deepens as the statistical distance between him and the field grows wider. This one captures the exact night it became official — in a format built for collectors who wanted in before the moment was history.
