Nikola Jokić — "The Joker" — rendered as a comic book villain and locked into one of the most coveted super short prints in the hobby right now. The 2025-26 Topps Chrome Update Alter Ego #AE-6 is card number six in a 10-card SSP insert set making its NBA debut — a concept so well received in Topps Chrome Update Baseball that Topps immediately brought it to basketball for the 2025-26 season. Artist Michael Blaskewicz spent three or four design iterations on this specific card before it felt right, knowing that working with a nickname already tied to one of the greatest comic book villains ever demanded perfection. The result is a graphic-novel-style Chrome refractor packed with layered visual Easter eggs built around the Joker persona.

Jokić is a 3x NBA MVP, 2023 Finals MVP, and 8x All-Star who averaged 27.7 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 10.7 assists in 2025-26 — leading the league in both rebounds and assists. He is the defining player of his era, and this card leans fully into that legend. Hobby pack odds for the Alter Ego SSPs sit at roughly 1:409 Hobby or 1:163 Jumbo, making a raw pull genuinely rare from the case level. The format offers only a base and a 1-of-1 SuperFractor — no numbered rainbow in between — which means every raw copy carries real population scarcity. Active eBay listings for the Jokić #AE-6 are already asking $4,500–$4,700, and the baseball Alter Ego comparables — Aaron Judge's base raw selling around $5,000 — confirm where the market is headed on top-tier subjects.

  • Card: 2025-26 Topps Chrome Update — Alter Ego Insert #AE-6

The Alter Ego concept has proven it moves markets — and the Joker card, singled out by Topps' own senior product manager as a personal favorite in the entire set, is the one Jokić collectors need to own. Low pop, high art, peak player.
