The 2026 Topps Flagship Football Fernando Mendoza Crackle Foil 35th Anniversary #91TR-1 is the rookie insert card that every serious collector in the class is chasing. It pays tribute to the iconic 1991 Topps design on its 35th anniversary — the same year Topps first unified its baseball and football design, a milestone 2026 Flagship was built to celebrate — dressed in eye-catching crackle foilboard finish that catches light from every angle.

Mendoza is the centrepiece of this entire release. The #1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, he arrived in Las Vegas off one of the most decorated college seasons in recent memory: 41 touchdown passes, six interceptions, a Heisman Trophy, and a national championship with Indiana — all in a single year. Topps named him the cover athlete for 2026 Flagship Football, its first true flagship football product since 2015, making this set a genuine landmark release in the hobby.

  • Card: 2026 Topps Flagship Football #91TR-1 — 1991 Topps Rookies Insert, Crackle Foil parallel
  • Player: Fernando Mendoza — Las Vegas Raiders QB, 2026 NFL Draft #1 overall pick
  • Condition: Near Mint or Better (ungraded)
  • Comp sales: Crackle Foil copies of this insert have sold in the $35–$40 range on eBay within weeks of release; the serial-numbered Blue Crackle parallel (/150) trades well north of $150

Flagship Football's return after an 11-year absence, combined with Mendoza's generational profile as the unquestioned face of the 2026 rookie class, makes the #91TR-1 Crackle Foil his most visually distinctive true rookie insert. The window on his early cardboard is open right now — and the crackle foil version is the one that pops on the shelf and in a slab.
