The Erika's Invitation — 196/165 is one of the standout Trainer pulls from Scarlet & Violet: 151 (MEW), the set widely regarded as the modern era's answer to the original Base Set. Pokémon 151 represents the first complete Kanto collection in TCG history, featuring all 151 original Pokémon in Pokédex order — released September 22, 2023, uniting nostalgic collectors with a new generation of fans. The cultural significance drove demand from collectors who hadn't touched the hobby in years, and combined with strategic reprint management by The Pokémon Company, 151 has avoided the typical post-release price crash.

As a Full Art Ultra Rare Trainer-Supporter numbered 196/165 — well above the set's 165-card base — this card carries genuine secret rare status. The card's effect forces your opponent to reveal their hand, allowing you to place a Basic Pokémon you find there directly onto their Bench — a disruptive, game-shaping play that keeps it relevant at the competitive table. Illustrated by saino misaki , the full art holofoil treatment gives it real display appeal alongside its playability.

  • Set: Scarlet & Violet: 151 (MEW) — 165 main set cards plus 42 secret rares including Illustration Rares and Special Illustration Rares
  • Card Number / Rarity: 196/165 — Full Art Ultra Rare, above-set-number secret pull
  • Card Type: Trainer – Supporter | Finish: Holofoil
  • Market Value: TCGplayer 3-month market price sits at approximately $9.05 with listings available as low as $8.94 , making this an attainable pull with strong set-wide collector demand behind it

Nearly three years after release, the set still holds strong value and respect within the community — proving the original 151 Pokémon remain the heart of the franchise, capable of thriving with modern card design. For set builders, player-collectors, and anyone chasing a complete Pokémon 151 master set, Erika's Invitation 196/165 is a necessary, beautiful piece of one of the most collectible expansions of the modern era.
