Pikachu ex — 149/128 Special Illustration Rare from Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration is the Day half of one of the most talked-about chase pairs in the entire anniversary set. Illustrated by kantaro, the card abandons the standard portrait format entirely — instead flooding the full art frame with a bright daytime parade of Pokémon, fireworks, and celebration, making it less a Pikachu card and more a snapshot of the entire franchise's history in a single image.

  • Set context: 30th Celebration was built around Pikachu from the ground up — 30 differently illustrated Pikachu run through the numbered set, one guaranteed per pack — making a Pikachu ex SIR that goes beyond all thirty of them a true apex pull.
  • Rarity: Among only 10 Special Illustration Rares in the entire 158-card set, 149/128 ranks as an A-Tier chase card and lands at #7 overall in set value — elite company alongside Mew ex and Gengar ex SIRs.
  • The Day/Night pair: This card is the daytime companion to 150/128; collectors building a master set need both, driving consistent demand for each individually.
  • Market value: Current market comps range from ~$53–$107 raw depending on platform, with PSA 10 copies trading at multiples above that. This Near Mint copy represents strong entry-point value before grades are factored in.

Thirty years of Pokémon history, compressed into one full-art secret rare. The 30th Celebration SIRs are the defining pulls of the anniversary era — and this is the one that started it all at sunrise.
