Want to know when this is back?

The Salamence ex 156/128 is one of the standout pulls from Mega Evolution: 30th Celebration — a set built entirely around Pokémon's 30-year milestone and loaded with some of the most visually striking alternate-art cards the modern era has produced. Numbered beyond the standard set total at 156/128, this card carries the coveted Special Illustration Rare (SIR) designation, placing it firmly in the ultra-premium tier of the set.

The artwork, rendered by illustrator Ryota Murayama, features Salamence in a full-canvas scene — a blue-and-red dragon dominating a holographic, rainbow-foil background with Pikachu woven into the composition as a nod to the anniversary theme. The holo treatment across the entire illustration gives it unmistakable shelf presence. On the competitive side, this is a Stage 2 Dragon-type ex packing 330 HP, Booming Call (recursion for up to 3 Dragon Pokémon from discard), and Dragon Pulse hitting for a clean 240 damage — a card with real playability, not just display appeal.

Raw NM copies are currently trading in the $18–$28 range across active marketplaces, with graded copies commanding a serious premium — PSA 9s moving around $42 and PSA 10s fetching $150+. For a set tied to Pokémon's once-in-a-generation 30th anniversary, collector demand on SIR pulls like this one isn't cooling down. If you're building a Dragon-type showcase or targeting grade-worthy hits, this is the copy to lock in while it's raw and pristine.
