The Terapagos ex – 169/131 Special Illustration Rare is the definitive chase version of one of the Scarlet & Violet era's most recognizable Pokémon. Scarlet & Violet: Prismatic Evolutions — the 180-card special expansion released January 17, 2025 — is widely regarded as one of the most collector-driven releases in years, and Terapagos ex anchors the whole thing as its cover Pokémon.

This 169/131 SIR is a secret-numbered Special Illustration Rare with full-art holo treatment, illustrated by artist mashu. It pulls at roughly 1-in-1,441 packs — making raw copies genuinely hard to find in top condition. At 230 HP, it hits with Unified Beatdown (30× damage per Benched Pokémon) and Crown Opal (180 damage with built-in defensive shielding), giving it real competitive presence alongside its collector prestige.

  • Card: Terapagos ex – 169/131, Special Illustration Rare (SIR)
  • Set: Scarlet & Violet: Prismatic Evolutions (PRE), Jan. 2025
  • Condition: Near Mint

  • Market comps: Raw NM copies trading in the $28–$35 range; PSA 9 slabs selling $30–$45; PSA 10s commanding a significant premium

Prismatic Evolutions was the hottest Pokémon TCG product of 2025, selling out repeatedly at retail. Getting a NM copy of the Terapagos ex SIR — the set's marquee Pokémon in its rarest ungraded form — is exactly the kind of pickup that holds long-term appeal in any serious Scarlet & Violet collection. Don't let this one sit.
